Definition: Tempered glass is a glass that undergoes a uniform heating process and then a sudden cooling process by means of pressurized air, significantly increasing its thermal and mechanical resistance. Tempered glass is considered to be safety glass; its use is recommended in various areas susceptible to impact, where in case of breakage it is converted into small fragments, which minimize the risk of serious or fatal injuries.
